Increase Profits With Partition Cleaning
Cleanfax (06/10) Vol. 25, No. 6, Cross, Jeff

Carpet cleaners looking to expand their service offerings should consider partition or cubicle cleaning, as the methods to clean these are similar to those employed to clean upholstery. Cleaning professionals should have upholstery cleaning hand tools, cleaning solutions, absorbent towels, a brush, and other extraction equipment on hand, and they can add color safe bleach and encapsulation products to improve results. They should use the brush to work in upholstery preconditioner, paying close attention to the "touch points," or areas where workers transfer oils from their fingers to the material. They should pretest for colorfastness, use gel solvents to prevent ink from spreading, use caution when it comes to dry solvents being applied to partition materials attached with adhesives, and restrict moisture to avoid damaging contents inside the wall. Finally, they can avoid streaks by working from bottom to top.
