Recommended Professional Practices Now AvailableBack in July 2002 your RIA Board of Directors decided to do a study of mold remediation best practices. The goal of the project was to present information that would give RIA members a solid working understanding of 1) the major issues related to mold remediation work, 2) a description of authoritatively accepted practices within the industry and 3) citations to the source documents that support each mainline position. You can find the document in the members only section by going to the Resource Library and selecting Recommended Professional Practices. Staff Technical Advisor Martin King CR was asked to assemble a compendium of written positions taken by leading authorities in goverment and scientific associations. Mr. King diligently collected the primary reference documents, catalogued the principal issues and recorded the published opinions expressed by leading authorities. After several drafts and seemingly countless consultations with leading practicioners, the final document describes 28 distinct issues, and does so in an easy-to-read chart format. The RIA Board of Directors believes this Recommended Professional Practices project is of critial importance to RIA members. Armed with this information RIA members can adhere to practices that enjoy the maximum endorsement by leading authorities, and avoid practices that are marginal, and therefore may be difficult to defend. We believe this document is of critical importance to all RIA members who do mold remediation work. Members, click here to view the document directly.
