Since announcing this program to help our members purchase liability insurance for mold remediation projects as well as other types of environmentally sensitive work. we have had a flood of interest in the insurance procurement training program.

We've scheduled the two-day compliance course "Environmental Compliance Management" for January 27 and 28. It will be held at Tradewinds Environmental in Bayshore, Long Island NY. If you are having difficulty purchasing liability insurance or if you are being charged outrageous prices, this is your opportunity to take affirmative steps to correct your situation.

This course teaches the business owner or manager about the environmental requirements government regulators and insurance auditors are looking for and gives specific direction about how to make sure your company is in compliance. This two-day course is one of a series of courses that is required before a company can qualify to participate in the RIA insurance procurement program. Even though it is only one of several, it is the key course for learning what you need to do to put your company in a position to be attractive to insurance companies.

Topics covered include development of health and safety plans, written respiratory protection plans, medical surveillance programs, training and documentation of training, work place practices, project documentation, hazard communication programs, all as seen through the eyes of an insurance company.

The two-day course is taught by a panel of expert instructors who practice what they preach. We anticipate some very lively discussions about compliance and documentation of compliance.
