UAV (Drone) Pilot Ground School for Restoration Contractors

June 16, 17, 23 and 24

Unmanned Aerial vehicles (UAVs or ‘drones’) are an affordable productivity and health & safety tool that can change the way you and your customers view exterior restoration projects. Learn how to qualify and use UAVs anywhere in Canada to legally, skillfully and safely make or save money, protect inspectors from injury and get better inspection data faster. The course employs a practical approach to UAV operations by introducing students to real-world roof and property inspection scenarios designed especially for restoration contractors. While the review of federal regulations are geared toward Canadian regulations, American contractors are encouraged to attend to learn about the variance in policy.

RIA’s UAV Ground School is a premium-quality LIVE online instructor-led classroom course. Our real-time online classroom is fully interactive with a real teacher, and includes all reference materials.

Critical UAV Pilot Skills covered in this course include Canadian regulation and compliance, flight planning, standard operating procedures, risk and crisis management, equipment maintenance and post flight records. This course covers foundational knowledge such as:

  • Air Law
  • Navigation
  • Meteorology
  • UAV Systems
  • Flight Operations
  • Radiotelephony
  • SFOC process overview
