Free Webinar: Learn About Recently Announced Changes to Federal Overtime Provisions

The U.S. Department of Labor recently announced its long-anticipated changes to overtime rules under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Beginning January 1, 2020, employees who are considered “salaried” and exempt from the FLSA’s overtime pay provisions must earn a guaranteed minimum salary of at least $684/week ($35,568/year) in order to be treated as such.  This is higher than the current threshold of $455/week, or $23,550/year.

Therefore, if an employee’s salary is not at least $684/week, he or she must receive overtime for all time worked over 40 hours in a week or receive an increase in salary to the new minimum level. Failure to do so will result in a violation of federal wage law.

RIA Town Hall Q&A

Mark Springer, CR

When you hear RIA, you should think Restoration Industry Advocates. Why? RIA is reinventing how we advocate for restoration companies! During the RIA Town Hall at the 2019 International Restoration Convention + Industry Expo, you learned about RIA’s conscientious and concerted effort to continue to spread the word about advocacy. As the continued voice for the restoration contractor, we understands the problems restoration companies face in the industry, the needs and support contractor are seeking, and what can be done to collectively turn transform our industry. With this in mind, RIA launch of the Advocacy and Government Affairs (AGA) Committee. To support the AGA Committee, during this interactive Town Hall attendees submitted hundreds of questions for the committee to consider and discuss. This webinar is an opportunity to revisit our discussion from the Town Hall and continue to the conversation. On June 27 at 12:00 PM CDT, participate in the RIA Town Hall Q&A webinar to hear Mark Springer talk through additional suggestions and questions that where not addressed during the Town Hall.
