In business, the 80/20 rule often means that 80 percent of sales come from 20 percent of clients, and in remediation projects, 80 percent of the cost comes from labor and 20 percent stems from the materials used. In effect, it is beneficial to not only shop around for less expensive quality materials but also find ways to complete a job using less labor without compromising the quality of the work. For instance, firms can use labor saving tools and chemicals to reduce the man hours necessary to remove mold, like media blasting to break down the mold more quickly. Moreover, a Powered Air Purifying Respirator can enable operators to maintain a higher level of productivity because it reduces the amount of effort it takes to breath and circulates HEPA filtered air inside a comfortable protective hood, reducing the onset of heat-induced fatigue. Less tired employees get more done, and happier employees are easier to retain.
