Storm-Prone States Are Relaxing Building Codes Instead of Making Them Tougher
A recent analysis of building regulations in 18 Atlantic and Gulf Coast states by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety found that even as natural disasters increase in severity, many states have relaxed their building codes or have not imposed any.
