Wildfire Risk Rises with 43 Million U.S. Homes Near Land Susceptible to Blazes
As of 2010, about 43 million homes were located in "wildland-urban interface" areas and are at increased wildfire risk, according to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
