Article Submission Guidelines

The editorial content of C&R Magazine is determined solely by the judgment and discretion of the editor, in consultation with the RIA Editorial Committee. The views and opinions expressed in the magazine are those of the article authors and do not reflect or represent official policy of RIA unless specifically stated. Authors’ affiliations are clearly identified. The C&R Magazine Editor reserves the right to reject article submissions that do not meet the following guidelines and/or do not support the magazine’s purpose.

1. Original Non-Infringing Works

Authors represent that the articles, artwork and photos they submit are original and/or created by the author and do not infringe upon any intellectual property or other rights of a third party. Authors must confirm they have received written authorization from any and all co-authors for publication of an article.

2. Use of Trade/Company Names

Avoid the use of trade names, company names and proprietary names. Any exceptions to this rule must be brought to the editor’s attention PRIOR to submission of the article. C&R Magazine will not publish articles that promote a particular product or service and reserves the right to modify or reject any articles that it deems to be “advertorial” or promotional in nature. When use of a trade name is determined by the editors to be essential to an article, the author must verify that spelling and applications described for the trade product are accurate. Failure to do so may also be cause for complete rejection of the article or delay for rewrite.

3. Reference/Quotation Source List

A reference list should cite all document titles, volume, and issue numbers and page numbers. A quotation source list should include names, titles, company names and phone numbers, and email addresses for individuals quoted.

4. Defamation and/or Negligent Misstatement

Article submissions shall not include language which could give rise to legal action for defamation or negligent misstatement. Such language, which can be directed at corporate entities and associations as well as individuals, shall not appear within published articles. Articles with libelous and/or defamatory statements will not be published.

5. Rights Acknowledgement

RIA shall have the right to publish such submissions in any form whatsoever, including printed form, disk, electronic or any now- or hereafter-developed method of transmitting information over the Internet or other distributed network system. Authors will be asked to sign a form granting RIA these reprint rights.
